Postal code- V3W 1M7

Census tract- 9330185.20

Total population- 5215

Neighborhood Description- My neighborhood has quiet suburban streets, friendly neighbors, local parks, and easy-to-access schools. Most of the people here are of similar cultural background as me which makes me feel at home. My area also has easily accessible transit services and some plazas with a lot of useful stores. There are also restaurants close by. I really like my neighborhood.

THE MOST INTERESTING FACTS

1. Residence of more non-Canadian citizens -  In my neighborhood, people live from different countries and are not legal citizens of Canada. 36.4 percent of the total population is from other parts of the globe. The value for the same scenario is 16.4% in all the regions. this is because many immigrants live in our area such as visitors, students, and permanent residents, as some areas of Surrey are easy to afford and live in.

2. High individual income in Vancouver - People in Vancouver earn more than the people in my neighborhood because people who live in Vancouver have more opportunities and most of them are already from wealthy families. The total after-tax income of 100,000 dollars or more in individual households in Vancouver is about 7.1% whereas in my neighborhood it is only 4.1%. One of the reasons could also be that my area has more students who work part-time.

3. High Literacy rate- People in Vancouver are more educated about 70.5 whereas, in my neighborhood, there is a 49.5 rate. because more people go to college in Vancouver. One of the reasons that more people go to college in Vancouver is because people born here have cheaper tuition. Immigrants have to pay much higher tuition to study so they prefer to get diplomas and not graduate with a degree.

  1. Hi Abhishek, overall, your neighborhood profile was interesting to read even though you added facts and logics behind those rates. However, your neighborhood description was lacking where do you live.

  2. Hey Abhishek , your work is impressive I wonder to see the literacy rate is too much low as the Vancouver metro literacy rate and the population of Canadians are less which make your environment means there are people living are from fifferent nation overall you you getting more diversity/.

  3. as abhishek has said in his blog that people in his neighborhood are from different parts of world I can relate that to literacy rate because may be most population in illiterate and here in Canada on visitor visa so they did not study.
